Tandoori Chicken

Ingredients:

Marination: Mix 200 gms of yogurt; 1 tspn of kashmiri
red chilli powder; Salt to taste; 2 tblspns of ginger paste; 2 tblspns of garlic paste; 2 tblspns of lemon juice; 1/2 tspn of garam masala powder; 2 tblspns of mustard oil
Method:
Mix Kashmiri red chilli powder, salt, ginger-garlic paste,
lemon juice, garam masala powder and mustard oil to the
yogurt and keep it aside for half an hour. Apply this marinade
onto the chicken pieces and refrigerate for three to four hours.
Put the chicken onto the skewers and cook in a moderately
hot tandoor or a pre-heated oven (200 degrees Celsius) for
ten to twelve minutes or until almost done. Baste it with butter and cook for another four minutes

Coconut rice
1. ¼ cup ghee2.
2 cups basmati rice, soaked in water for 15
3. 5 cups coconut milk
4. Salt to taste
5. ¼ cup coconut, grated
Method
Heat the ghee in a heavy-bottomed vessel.
Stir fry the rice in it till slightly brown.
Add coconut milk and bring to boil.
Lower the flame and cook till done.
Add salt and stand over a very slow fire till all the water is absorbed.
Roast grated coconut lightly and sprinkle over hot rice before serving.

6. Poppy seeds-¼ tsp,
7. Ginger- 1" piece,

9. Garlic - 4 cloves
10.Turmeric Powder- ¼ tsp,
11. Cardamom -3,
12. Cinnamon-1" piece,
13. Cloves-4,14.
Oil ¼ cup,
15. Coconut milk- ¾ cup from ½ a coconut,
16. Coconut grated- 3 dsp,
17. Curd- ¼ cup,
18. Lime juice-1 tsp

Method 1. Cook the vegetables with salt and keep aside.
2. Grind ingredients from 4 10 and keep aside.
3. Saute onions, green chillies and the spices in oil.
4. Add the ground ingredients and saute.
5. Add the vegetables and the coconut milk.
6. Grind the grated coconut and mix it with the curd and add it to the above.
7. Slimmer for a few minutes.
8. When done, add the lime juice.

Equations to prevent car crashes by INDIANS

A set of algorithms developed by Indian origin researchers will enable robotic cars to communicate with one another and avoid collisions.

Bhibhya Sharma of the University of South Pacific, headquartered in Fiji, who led the research, said that the series of equations would instruct robotic cars when and how to merge lanes, which could lead to fewer accidents and ease traffic congestion.

Flocking is a biologically inspired technique and a strategy commonly used in robotics. "One of the advantages of flocking is that robots can work together and achieve what would take individuals far longer," he said.

He further explained that each car will be controlled by a centralized brain guided by a series of algorithms to control the car. The brains will talk to each other and instruct the cars to merge lanes and move in formation together.

The team demonstrated the technique using computer simulation and is currently testing it in two wheel robots.

Fellow researcher Utesh Chand said that the cars have targets they move towards and maintain and when the cars find themselves in a merging situation, one of them will be given the position of leader, the rest will follow.

The team has written equations for attraction towards the target, enabling cars to stay inside their lanes and avoid crashing into each other. The challenge now is to allow the robot to automatically plan how to avoid crashing with the side of the road and cars travelling close by.

Sharma and Chand presented these findings at the first Rim Mathematical Association (PRIMA) conference in Sydney, said a University of South Pacific release.

Air India likely to take action against more staffers by tomorrow

Air India, which derostered nine employees including two pilots for taking on board three passengers in excess of the aircraft capacity two months ago, is likely to take action against more staffers by Sunday."We will take action against those guilty by tomorrow," an airline official said.The incident occurred on May 5 when its Mumbai-Mangalore flight IC-179 took off with three extra passengers, with one of them seated in the cockpit.With the internal probe by its Executive Director of Western Region in progress, the airline has received some feedback as to who ordered carrying of the three passengers and who were the people involved in issuing of boarding passes manually, airline sources said.There were indications that the three passengers were the wife and two children of one of the pilots who is among the nine employees derostered, they said, adding that some employees were probably "pressurised" to put them on board the packed 172-seater Airbus A-321 aircraft.While one of the three extra passengers was seated inside the cockpit on the 'jump seat' (the third seat besides the two meant for pilot and co-pilot) in complete violation of security guidelines, the other two were accommodated on seats meant for the cabin crew.These additional passengers were issued manual boarding passes as the computerised ones cannot be generated once a flight is completely booked.The incident came to light when Directorate General of Civil Aviation was carrying out a probe into an incident involving the same flight at Mumbai airport in which the aircraft was towed back even before its doors were closed, damaging the aerobridge attached to it and its doors.The commander of the flight, the co-pilot, a ground engineer, a driver of the tow tractor and five commercial staff were derostered immediately after this accident.The DGCA, which submitted its report on the matter on June 26, pointed out that during its investigation it was found that extra passengers were carried by this flight.The regulatory body had also pointed out that some had "deliberately tampered" with the 'load and trim sheet' of the flight. It is a record of a flight detailing the number of passengers and crew members, the weight of cargo and baggage, being carried and technical information like aircraft balance and its centre of gravity.Industry sources said carrying of a passenger inside the cockpit was not only "gross negligence" but a clear violation of security and safety regulations.Prior to the 9/11 attacks in the US, off-duty cabin or cockpit crew were allowed to travel on the 'jump seat', which is the third seat other than the two meant for the pilot and co-pilot. This was, however, done with an authorisation by the Captain of a flight.

Adopt a proper and healthy diet

New study has revealed that using lifestyle interventions on top of existing
drug treatments can help controlling high blood sugar levels.

A team at University of Otago has provided intensive dietary advice to improve blood sugar control in diabetics - even though they're on what is regarded as the best available medication. The study divided 87 high-risk diabetes patients into two groups.

Both received optimised medical care, but patients in one of the groups also received regular one-on-one dietary advice from a dietitian.
Lead investigator Dr Kirsten Coppell said that at the end of the study, measures of glycaemic control were found to have significantly improved in the group receiving the advice.
The group also recorded an average weight loss of 2 kg and a 3cm reduction in waistlines.

"Achieving good glycaemic control is a crucial goal in managing diabetes, as it can prevent long-term complications such as kidney failure, heart disease and blindness.

Before the widespread introduction of anti-diabetic drugs, the key focus in diabetes care was on diet and lifestyle.

"Our research indicates that while this earlier approach has tended to be forgotten in this modern age of a 'pill for every ill', it still very much has its place in diabetes management," Dr Coppell said.
Rather than focusing on a strict diet, nutritional advice in the study was tailored to match each individual's socio-economic and cultural circumstances.
It involved things like encouraging smaller meals, reducing unhealthy components in their diets while eating more fruit and vegetables.
