Tandoori Chicken


Ingredients:

Marination: Mix 200 gms of yogurt; 1 tspn of kashmiri
red chilli powder; Salt to taste; 2 tblspns of ginger paste; 2 tblspns of garlic paste; 2 tblspns of lemon juice; 1/2 tspn of garam masala powder; 2 tblspns of mustard oil
Method:
Mix Kashmiri red chilli powder, salt, ginger-garlic paste,
lemon juice, garam masala powder and mustard oil to the
yogurt and keep it aside for half an hour. Apply this marinade
onto the chicken pieces and refrigerate for three to four hours.
Put the chicken onto the skewers and cook in a moderately
hot tandoor or a pre-heated oven (200 degrees Celsius) for
ten to twelve minutes or until almost done. Baste it with butter and cook for another four minutes

Coconut rice

Coconut rice
1. ¼ cup ghee2.
2 cups basmati rice, soaked in water for 15
3. 5 cups coconut milk
4. Salt to taste
5. ¼ cup coconut, grated
Method
Heat the ghee in a heavy-bottomed vessel.
Stir fry the rice in it till slightly brown.
Add coconut milk and bring to boil.
Lower the flame and cook till done.
Add salt and stand over a very slow fire till all the water is absorbed.
Roast grated coconut lightly and sprinkle over hot rice before serving.

vegetable kurma

Vegetable kurma
1. Mixed vegetables (comprising of carrot, beans, potatoes, cauliflower etc.)- 2 cups
2. Salt - to taste,
3. Green chillies (slit) - 6,
4. Big onions (sliced) - 2,
5. Cumin seeds ¼ tsp,
6. Poppy seeds-¼ tsp,
7. Ginger- 1" piece,
8. Pepper -¼ tsp,
9. Garlic - 4 cloves
10.Turmeric Powder- ¼ tsp,
11. Cardamom -3,
12. Cinnamon-1" piece,
13. Cloves-4,14.
Oil ¼ cup,
15. Coconut milk- ¾ cup from ½ a coconut,
16. Coconut grated- 3 dsp,
17. Curd- ¼ cup,
18. Lime juice-1 tsp

Method 1. Cook the vegetables with salt and keep aside.
2. Grind ingredients from 4 10 and keep aside.
3. Saute onions, green chillies and the spices in oil.
4. Add the ground ingredients and saute.
5. Add the vegetables and the coconut milk.
6. Grind the grated coconut and mix it with the curd and add it to the above.
7. Slimmer for a few minutes.
8. When done, add the lime juice.

IGNOU plans to set up foreign centres

The Indira Gandhi National Open university (Ignou) has plans to set up centres in foreign countries in the near future.
The university has already been running its courses in countries like the UK, Germany and other African countries for some time now its long offered in collaboration with institutes of respective countries. But now , Ignou has decided to set up its own centres in these countries. . The university, to this effect, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the UK-based Lincoln university . the basic modules will be same same, but the Indian case studies will be excluded.
